The 2025 Timberlake Junior High Softball Team had a very successful season this year. The girls had an excellent record, going 15-2. As their season came to an end, they were still on top, winning the Junior High Timberlake Softball Tournament and really displaying the grit and determination of a Timberlake Tiger. The team consisted of: Piper Powell, Presley Ging, Ella Fesmire, Maddie Hollenbeck, Abby May, Sophia Tucker, Lanie Lamle, Joplin VanOsdol, Brooklyn Johnson, Taylynn Shepard, Demi VanOsdol, Harper Hargis, Lillie Perryman, Katie Hollenbeck, Ali Dayton, Addyson Dunavant, Jayli Severin, Baylee Zimbelman, and Mephis VanOsdol.

I asked four of the girls some questions about their season.

What is your favorite memory from this year?

Harper Hargis: "Winning the Timberlake Tournament and making jokes with Coach Detrick."

What sets your team apart from others?

Piper Powell: We are different from other teams because of our team chemistry. A lot of our girls play travel softball together, so we all work well together, and it is also special to add the other girls."

What have you learned this softball season?

Addyson Dunavant: What I have learned this year is to be confident in everything, even when we're losing, and to be mentally strong. I've also learned new things about my teammates, like their hobbies, favorite food, and their favorite position to play in softball."

What are you excited about for next year?

Lainie Lamle: Seeing what talent the sixth graders will bring us next year. I'm also looking forward to playing ball with my friends and the fun times we have outside of school.

Congratulations to the JH girls' softball team on a great fast-pitch season! We look forward to watching these ladies play again in the spring during slow pitch.
