carnival

The Timberlake Elementary Fall Carnival was a great success last week. The evening began with a gymnasium full of attendees playing at various game booths run by classroom teachers and volunteers. Children had a great time playing different games like Plinko, karaoke, and bouncing in the bounce house. During the games, there was also a silent auction full of awesome baskets created by elementary classes, along with some great items donated by area businesses. Later in the evening, before the coronation of Carnival King and Queen, the winners of the ticket raffle were announced. The prizes given away included an electric smoker, a pearl necklace, two Kindle Fires, a 55” smart TV, and cash prizes. The Carnival court was then announced, these students were the top salesmen and women for their class: Kindergarten- Jade Jenlink & Benjamin Stweart; 1st Grade- Preslynn Schmidt & Liam McCollum; 2nd Grade- Kinslee Nichols & Luke Ridgway; 3rd Grade- Piper McCollum & Trent Jones; 4th Grade- Myleigh Hunter & Cy Wallace; 5th Grade- Tori Jones & Easton Foster; 6th Grade- Jade Hickman & Zayden Spade. The Carnival King and Queen, and Prince and Princess were awarded based on the total between the two candidates. The Carnival Prince and Princess were Preslynn Schmidt and Liam McCollum, and the King and Queen were Jade Hickman and Zayden Spade.

With the help of teachers, staff, community, and local businesses, the carnival raised over $15,000! With the money raised, students and staff at the elementary school will all receive a t-shirt, and they will vote on a bigger item to purchase. In the past, carnival money has been used to buy two bounce houses, an ice cream machine, and a vinyl printer. All elementary teachers will also get money that will be used directly for items in their classrooms.

Thank you to all of the carnival sponsors, families, teachers, and friends who helped make this year’s event a success.
