Last week, Timberlake FCCLA attended the Oklahoma FCCLA State Convention, where students showcased their skills and achievements in a variety of competitive events. Timberlake had a total of 7 teams that competed at State STAR events, all of which advanced to Nationals!
Several Timberlake students earned top honors at the event. State champions included Bobby Dale in Personal Finance, Lilly McCart in Career Investigation, and Ciera Rothermel in Hospitality and Tourism.
Students earning State Runner-Up honors were Emily McNary and Geneva Mahieu in Public Policy Advocate, Ava Jokerst and Conner Severin in Event Management, and Layla Vassar in Leadership. Amelia Pearson also placed third in Career Investigation.
Along with the STAR event competitors, Timberlake also had one State Officer candidate, Lilly McCart. Lilly McCart was elected as Oklahoma FCCLA’s State Vice President of Marketing. Congratulations to all of our competitors and our new State Officer!
Students will now prepare to compete at the national competition later this year.
