Timberlake Schools

The Timberlake family is saddened by the news that one of our own, Phil Burkes passed yesterday. A service for Phil will take place next Wednesday at 2:00 pm and the family has requested to utilize our JH/HS auditorium. In order to facilitate the service and allow staff to attend, school will release early for all grades on Wednesday, September 2nd. The elementary will release and run buses at 11:45. The JH/HS will release at or a little before noon. Lunch times will be changed to allow students to eat before being released. Students attending Career Tech will be back for buses but will not be back in time to eat lunch. Please inform drivers or the school if you need to make alternative arrangements for pickup or routes.

The attached form gives you an opportunity to share the specific roles you would be interested in filling when opportunities arise. These may include helping with our weekend meal program, assisting at home games, reading to students, joining the PTO, or substituting.

As our faculty numbers have steadily declined, it is more important than ever that we work together as a community to support our school and create the best possible outcomes for our students.

The Timberlake Cross Country Meet will take place tonight, Tuesday, August 25th at the Salt Plains Park. 🏃

The meet will begin at 5 PM. Contestants will run in the following order:

▪ Elem. Boys: 1 Mile (Split into 3 divisions individually- 5th/6th, 3rd/4th, 2nd & below). All run together.
▪ Elem. Girls: 1 Mile (Split into 3 divisions individually- 5th/6th, 3rd/4th, 2nd & below). All run together.
▪ 7th and 8th Boys: 1 Mile
▪ 7th and 8th Girls: 1 Mile
▪ HS Girls: 1.5 Miles
▪ HS Boys: 2 Miles

📍 Location: Salt Plains Spillway Course (South of River Road Campground)

The Junior High game will begin at 4:30 p.m., followed by the High School game at 6:00 p.m.

A representative will be at the high school on Wednesday, August 26, at 1:00 p.m., to speak with sophomores and older students about ordering letter jackets.

Happy Friday! It’s a day full of softball! 🥎

Our JH girls will compete in the Waukomis Festival today! They’ll take on Watonga at 11:30 AM, followed by Waukomis at 2:30 PM.

Our HS team will travel to Pioneer for the Covington-Douglas/Pioneer Festival, with games against Fairview at 2:00 PM and Pioneer at 3:20 PM.

Okeene has asked for us to share the following message about tonight's scrimmage:

Patrons of Okeene,

I apologize in advance for the parking inconvenience at the sports complex. We are putting a sealant across most of the parking lot areas, and will not be able to utilize our parking lots for tonight's scrimmage. This project will be completed this week and full access to all parking areas will be available on Monday, August 24th barring any unforeseen circumstances.

With this being said we will be parking patrons in the grass west of the main parking lot and on the grass on the north side of the gymnasium. We will reserve handicap accessible parking on the west side of the indoor facility and we will reserve parking for our elderly citizens directly across from the handicap reserved area. Parking attendants will be on site to assist with parking. Again, we apologize for this inconvenience.

Okeene is currently undergoing parking lot renovations around their football field. They have asked for us to share with our community that they will be parking spectators in the grass south of the gymnasium for the HS football scrimmage tomorrow evening at 6:00. They apologize for the inconvenience and will have someone there to help direct traffic. They will have contingencies in place for handicapped or elderly visitors that might struggle with the longer walk. Okeene staff will assist in those situations. Thanks in advance for your patience and we hope you can come support your Tigers!

🚲 We're off to a "wheelie" great start! 🎉 Our elementary students kicked off the year with an exciting presentation from the Bully-Free BMX Riders! The riders shared an important message about making good choices for yourself and others, while promoting kindness, respect, and positive decision-making. What a fun and inspiring way to start the school year! 🐾🚲

The JH & HS softball games scheduled at Covington today, Monday, Aug. 17, have been rained out.
