The Timberlake leadership team has received feedback over the past few weeks regarding discussions revolving around the fact that Timberlake is not currently a member of a Career Tech district. For those of you that are interested in a lengthy break down of our situation, here is a link to a letter describing the data and laws surrounding this topic, as well as the discussions and efforts that have been made to find a solution for Timberlake. https://aptg.co/TbCqn4 For a shorter read, here are the main factors that have led to our current situation. The cost for property owners would equate to a minimum of approximately $625,000 per year and with our enrollment numbers, we would likely only be able to send a maximum of 15 HS students in a single year. That basic math equates to at least $40,000 per student per year to attend, likely double that during many years. That would be in addition to all other taxes paid by our local property owners. Bond issues have no correlation to Career Tech membership, and unfortunately, those funds cannot legally be utilized for tuition or membership. We stand with most of our community behind the common belief that our students deserve the same opportunities as others throughout the state. We just need a viable solution to be able to make that happen. Don't hesitate to reach out if you have questions or ideas. Have a great spring break!
